This page explains how to delete your Balum account and the data associated with it. Balum works without an account, so this only applies if you chose to sign in (with Google, Apple, Facebook, or an email magic-link) to sync across devices.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (recommended)
- Open Balum on your device.
- Go to your Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and synced data are permanently deleted.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email [email protected] from the email address linked to your account and ask us to delete it. We'll verify it's you and delete your account.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove from our servers (Supabase):
- Your name and email address;
- Your account / user identifier;
- Your synced progress — streaks, points, badges, daily completions, and saved bookmarks.
Account data is deleted promptly, and removed from routine backups within 30 days. We do not retain a copy after that, except where the law requires it.
What stays on your device
Some data never leaves your device and is therefore not held by us — including your journal entries, private du'a records, mood check-ins, settings, and saved location. This on-device data is removed when you uninstall the app.
